Oprah Winfrey Show

Lani, and I got to go the Oprah show. Brian keeps lucking out on getting me tickets. It was a blast! It happened to be Friday's live with Oprah. The Topics were good, we listened to Steve Harvey talk, and give advice on couples, or relationships it was prefect. We also got to see, and hear Jennifer Hudson live. We got to take home Steve's new book as well. It was fun, especially because it was with my sister.

Taylor's Birthday!

For Taylor's Birthday he got a little surprise.  His cousin Aubree came to visit. Yeah!! We went down to Chicago for the day. Lani and I got to go to The Oprah Show, then Brian and the kids came downtown, and we went to Ed Debevic's for lunch. This place where the waiter/waitress makes fun of you the whole time. It's a fun place! Check out the size of Taylor's Birthday cake....... Too funny!!!!
We did lots of other fun things downtown, and then went home for more celebration, and enjoyed watching the kids play with all the new toys.

Just like his Mother...

This is what Taylor can be found doing very frequently during the day. Picking at the baby!!! Yes, that's right picking at baby Case.   Taylor likes to pick at things. Dry skin, acne, and the latest...boogers from Case's eyes! Too funny! If it's to be seen, as soon as Taylor spots it, it's gone. I took this random picture of Taylor in the act. I told Taylor as hard as it is he needs to stop picking at the baby.

Pneumonia!

That's right Pneumonia! Our sweet little Jackson has Pneumonia. It wouldn't be so bad just having Pneumonia but as many of you know our little Jackson has allergies/asthma really bad. Right now Jackson's asthma is at a high. Nights being the worst! We ran him to the Doctor early Friday morning, after a very scary night. They put him on oral steroids, and antibiotics.  The doctor gave us a choice because Jackson's pulse ox was at 92. Intubate him, or take him home and do a nebulizer treatment every two hours and no moving around  for the next three days so that his little body can rest and heal. We chose the second option. He's been doing well. He has been so obedient, and so patient. The hardest part is keeping him down, and not playing around. He said to Brian, "Dad I can't stop moving because my brain keeps telling me to move".  We got a good laugh from that one. Our sick little Boy!

Lots of Company

We have had a ton of company since we've had Case. It's been fun! Our good friends Nate And Lisa Christiansen came and stayed with us for five days. We just hung out the whole time. I've never eaten so much food in my life. Lisa was a great help to have around. We sure do miss their sweet family. They have been such a blessing to us. We love and miss them so much. It's nice because we've managed to see them so often since they moved. The lord really does place certain people in our lives at certain times.

Movie night in Brian's once again home made "Home Theater." Awesome!

My BIG Helper...

McKenzie is such a blessing to me. She is so much fun to have around. She is such a sweet little girl, who is always looking to help out whenever, and wherever she can.
This past week Brian was gone for some interviews. I was pretty sick, not to mention so tired and exhausted from my sweet little baby. McKenzie was such a big helper. When I teach piano lessons, Kenzie is so good to play with Jackson (this is usually games, or crafts), she is so creative and fun.  Sometimes I wonder if she has any idea of how grateful I am to her, and her willingness to help out. Case also just loves her. Kenzie is loving being a big sister again, ( even if it's not a girl). She is so good at being a little nurturer. She's a great little helper to have around.

THE INNOCENCE OF CHILDREN...

So a few days ago Jackson comes up to me with his plastic cows that he had been so quietly playing with in the office. This is a picture of what he shows me.

So if you can even imagine how our conversation must have went.

Mom: So Jackson, what's this?
Jackson: Oh just my cows, they're just playing.
Mom: What are they playing?
Jackson: You know mom! ( Me regretting even asked the question, in fear of what his reply may be).
Jackson: You know Mom, they're playing like grandpa's cows.(My parents live on a farm, and the kids spend a ton of time around the cows, and apparently are exposed to a few things.)
Mom: (At this point I'm just staring at Jackson wondering what he was going to say next).
Jackson: Piggy back rides, Mom !!!!! ( saying it like I was dumb and should have known)
Mom: Oh ya, just like grandpa's cows.

He then, continued to just play. Growing up on a farm, or I guess just visiting a farm gives the kids a great opportunity to learn about life. I wasn't ready to explain to Jackson what the cows were "really" playing.
